Update to Salary and Member Expense Reimbursement Submission Policy

April 19, 2024
Beginning Oct. 19, 2024, all submissions must be received within 120 days

BCNU Council has passed a motion requiring members to submit all requests for salary reimbursement (also known as union leave) or expense reimbursements within 120 days following the event or expense date. This requirement will be strictly enforced following a six-month grace period.

This update to Policy 9.3.5 increases the amount of time members participating in BCNU-approved activities have to claim eligible expenses after attendance is verified. Previously, members were required to submit reimbursement forms within 30 days of an event or activity.

BCNU forms have been replaced by the union’s recently launched member expense dashboard, which helps members to easily submit and track all their expenses in one convenient place following participation at eligible union events and activities.

Please note the salary reimbursement process on the member expense dashboard is separate from the union leave forms members submit to employers, which are not shared with BCNU.

The new member expense dashboard can be accessed via the BCNU Member Portal, where members can also review frequently asked questions and education resources.
