Mediated Settlement Reached by BCNU and Gayle Duteil

The BCNU and Gayle Duteil announced today that they have reached a mediated settlement resolving all outstanding issues between them, to their mutual satisfaction. The agreement was reached after 5 days of mediation with Vince Ready.

By agreement of the parties the terms of settlement are to remain confidential and no further comment will be made by either party.

Gayle Duteil also announced she has decided to withdraw from BCNU political life for personal reasons to focus on her recovery from breast cancer.

The leadership of the BCNU acknowledges Ms. Duteil's years of dedicated service to the nurses of BC and the health care system in the province.

Ms. Duteil continues to support the BCNU and wishes them well in the current round of negotiations with Health Employers of BC.
